Joanne has a proven record of successfully developing and managing private case management services that consistently meet the high standards of clients and leading law firms.
With a particular interest in providing ongoing rehabilitation, care and support for clients with enduring and complex conditions, she is dedicated to creating and delivering a flexible, bespoke service at North Star that maximises client choice and independence.

Niccola Irwin

Niccola is an experienced occupational therapist, clinical case manager, expert witness, and the Clinical Director of North Star. She maintains an active clinical caseload, supporting clients with life-changing health conditions including orthopaedic injuries and amputations (upper and lower limb), chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and mental health issues.
As part of her medico-legal practice, Niccola prepares expert witness reports on care and occupational therapy, and has experience being cross examined in court.
At North Star, she shares responsibility for business performance alongside her clinical leadership.
Niccola is a Director of the Institute of Registered Case Managers and currently chairs their Quality Assurance Committee.

Dawn Sear — Dawn Sear

Dawn is a skilled and experienced business manager with a professional background that spans various industries, including motorsport and private clinical case management.
The efficient operation of North Star is paramount to underpinning our work with clients, and Dawn's contribution in this regard is pivotal. She leads the business administration team, a group of committed professionals who ensure the company has the necessary resources to support the case managers in providing a high-quality, personalised service.
Dawn is collaborative and forward-thinking, and she continuously reviews operational strategies to implement business changes that will optimise the service and benefit our clients.

Jo Renshaw
Registered Manager

As Registered Manager, Jo ensures our clients receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
With practical experience of supporting young people with health conditions, such as cerebral palsy and brain injury, in both educational and community settings, Jo trained and qualified as a social worker. She later worked as a case manager for two prominent case management companies before transitioning into health and social care education in 2017, where she trained support workers in essential care skills.
Jo now leads our quality assurance team, overseeing client care to ensure it adheres to internal policies and CQC standards, thereby guaranteeing the service we provide is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
